Product Description

All configurations flat stack into one compact, easy to carry assembly.

Proudly made in the USA, the Slot Grill Full Size is a heavy duty collapsible charcoal grill built from thick carbon steel. No thin materials. No shortcuts. No flimsy overseas junk.

It assembles in seconds with no tools required and features an elevated design with a generous air gap underneath to promote airflow while reducing heat transfer to the surface below.

Built for larger cooks and heavier food loads, this grill delivers maximum rigidity and long term durability. Made entirely from 10 gauge carbon steel, it is a serious grill designed to handle real cooking without flexing or wobble.

This grill was not designed on a screen and rushed to production. It was refined through years of real world use. We cook on our own grills regularly, and every revision was driven by what worked, what worked well, and what worked best in actual cooking conditions.

If you are tired of buying products that turn out to be almost what you expected—cheap, flimsy, and disposable—it is time to be surprised. In a good way.

Texas big. Texas tough. Built for use, built for abuse, and built to be the cooking tool by your side for years to come.

GOT QUESTIONS? WE'VE GOT ANSWERS.

What is the Slot Grill made of?

The Slot Grill is made from heavy 10-gauge carbon steel. This is thick, durable steel — not thin sheet metal. For reference, 10-gauge steel is roughly the thickness of two U.S. quarters stacked together.

Why is it more expensive than grills at big box stores?

Most big box store grills are made from thin sheet metal, use lower-grade materials, and prioritize low cost over performance and durability. They don’t retain heat well, don’t cook consistently, and don’t hold up to the heat and conditions involved in real grilling. The Slot Grill is built from thick steel, uses a simple and proven design, and is made to last — not to be disposable.

What size is it when assembled and when packed flat?

Assembled, the cooking surface measures 20 inches wide by 11 inches deep, providing a full-size cooking area. Disassembled, it packs flat to approximately 1 inch thick for easy transport and storage.

How much does it weigh?

The Slot Grill weighs approximately 28 pounds. The weight comes from the thickness of the steel and is intentional for durability and stability.

Does it come assembled?

The Slot Grill is designed to be assembled and disassembled in 30–60 seconds with no tools. It is shipped to you in the flat-pack configuration, making it easy to transport, store, and set up wherever you’re cooking.

How long does it take to set up?

Once you’ve done it once, about 30–60 seconds.

Can I cook with wood or charcoal?

Yes. You can cook with charcoal or cooking wood. Most people use charcoal, but oak, mesquite, pecan, and fruit woods all work well for cooking.

How hot does it get? Will it warp?

The Slot Grill is designed for high-heat cooking. Metal naturally expands and contracts with temperature changes, so minor movement or flexing during use can occur. This is normal and expected with any metal grill. The Slot Grill will not permanently warp or hold an out-of-design shape under normal use for which it is designed.

Do the grates or parts move during cooking?

The Slot Grill assembles into an extremely stable, slotted-in structure. When used as intended, the parts remain secure during cooking and normal use. Accidental bumps won’t cause it to come apart, though like any grill, it can disassemble if deliberately knocked over or pushed off a surface.

Can I use cast iron pots or pans on the grill?

Yes. The Slot Grill is more than strong enough to handle appropriately sized cast iron cookware, including pots and pans used for outdoor cooking.

What surfaces can I safely use it on?

The Slot Grill should be used on non-combustible surfaces such as dirt, gravel, sand, or fire-safe pads. It also stands taller than many grills of a similar design, making it popular for tailgating. Many examples of cooking on truck beds, picnic tables, and similar surfaces can be seen in videos without issues. That said, using the grill on any elevated or non-fire-rated surface is done at your own risk, and care should always be taken to avoid heat damage.

How do I clean the Slot Grill?

If you want to clean it up for storage, treat it like you would dirty dishes. Wash each piece with dish soap and a steel or copper wire scrub pad, then rinse with water using a sink, hose, or even a water bottle. Towel dry and store in a dry location. If possible, apply a very thin coat of food-safe oil using a paper towel, similar to cast iron. This helps protect the steel during storage.

Does it need seasoning or special care?

Like any raw carbon steel cooking surface, it will naturally darken with use. Basic cleaning and keeping it dry is usually all that’s needed.

Will it rust?

It’s carbon steel, so yes — it can rust if left wet or unprotected, just like cast iron.
Normal use, drying after cleaning, and light oiling prevent issues.

Can the Slot Grill be used as a fire pit?

Yes. At 20 inches wide, the Slot Grill is large enough to hold several pieces of firewood and can be used as a small fire pit. Shorter pieces of wood work best, as they allow for better airflow.

Can I stand on the grill?

Some people choose to stand on their assembled grill to demonstrate its durability. Yes — it can support the weight of a full-grown adult, and we’ve had two grown men standing on one with no indication that the structure was nearing its limit.

That said, the Slot Grill is not designed to be stood on, and we do not recommend or suggest performing this test. Standing on the grill is not an intended use.

Is it safe for camping or beach use?

Yes — as long as you follow local fire regulations and place it on a safe surface.

Where is the Slot Grill made?

Every Slot Grill is made in Texas, USA.

How long does shipping take?

Orders typically ship within a few business days, depending on order volume.

Where do you ship from?

All grills ship from Texas.

What is your return policy?

Returns are accepted on unused products in original condition. Shipping costs are not refundable.
