Seasoning Balm – For Slot Grills (Full Size & Compact)

Keep your Slot Grill protected and performing like it should. This seasoning balm is made for both Full Size and Compact Slot Grills to help create a durable, non stick protective coating on raw steel surfaces.

Apply a very thin layer directly to each plate. A light sheen is all you need. A paper towel or scrap piece of cotton works great for application. It may not look like much is on there, but once heated, the lighter elements burn off and leave behind a polymerized layer that bonds to the steel. This creates a natural non stick surface while helping prevent rust.

Instructions: Apply a very thin coat to all desired surfaces. Bake at 400°F for 1 hour to cure. Repeat as needed to build up the coating over time.

This balm is also a good alternative to high temperature barbecue paint for seasoning the grill body. Unlike paint, this method keeps everything food safe and consistent across the entire grill. Do not use barbecue paint on cooking surfaces or grates.
